About Mrs. Hoffman
My name is Mrs. Sharon Hoffman, and I grew up on a farm about 65 miles southeast of Villa Grove.  My father, Wilbur, was a farmer and licensed income tax practitioner, while my mother, Mary, was a former teacher in the one-room schools of the Martinsville area, and then a teacher at Martinsville Junior-Senior High School.

I was graduated from Martinsville High School in 1982, from Lincoln Trail College in 1984 with an Associate's in Science Degree, from Eastern Illinois University in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Junior High Education, and from the University of Illinois in 1999 with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

This is my thirty-second year teaching in the Villa Grove School District, having taught junior high English for my first eight years, and then junior high social studies for the past twenty-four years.  For the 2017-2018 school year, I teach HS world history, seventh grade world geography, eighth grade US history, and the "rotation classes" of Constitution and Illinois history.

My family consists of my husband, Lee, the Villa Grove Art Instructor for the past thirty-three years, and our daughter Kilee, who was graduated from Judson University in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Visual Communications: Graphic Design, and a minor in business.  While at Judson, Kilee competed on the Judson Eagles Track Team as a thrower and is the women's record holder in javelin.  During her career at Judson, she was a 4-year All-Conference (CCAC) performer and a 4-year NCCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Qualifier.  She is currently a graduate assistant track coach at Judson, specializing in recruiting, and she will also be the "throwers" coach.  Kilee is pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration and is  employed part-time as an account executive at jSinger Marketing.

We have two dogs, Dottie and Kit, and they are our "lovely ladies." I collect John Deere and Captain America memorabilia, as well as Breyer Horses, particularly those of historical background.
